Good/Bad

Sometimes the internet overwhelms me with how FUCKING GREAT/SCARY it really is!

Good
  • Blogging (I never realized I had so much to say about absolutely nothing).
  • Online dog Rescue: You can find the perfect dog through rescue! NOTE: If you buy from a breeder, I will hunt you down and lecture you. To make it up to me, your next dog will need to come from a dirty backwoods shelter, I'll be happy to accompany you if you are a little nervous about stepping into such a place.
  • Being able to learn (from the reputable sites) about anything and everything, without having to pull heavy encyclopedias from the shelves of your local public library. Because of wikipedia, I know what year Eddie Vedder was born (it was 1964, by the way).
  • Music, music, and more effin' music. The internet is the BEST thing that has ever happened to the industry. I love you radio, and I love my job, but you better step up your game. The ipod is making you it's bitch.
  • Instant messaging my mom. That is fun. She still signs the last IM of our chat "mom" (just in case I didn't know it was her).
  • Buying DVD's on amazon.com and continually begging my family and friends to just look at my wishlist, cause I REALLY want the 1st season of 30 Rock on DVD! DAMMIT! I have a lady crush on Tina Fey's astounding wit!

NOT GOOD
  • Child Porn
  • Pit bull breeder websites (for every one bred, one dies in a shelter)
  • Myspace being used by 11 year olds. Have you seen some of the stuff they write? OMG!
Dear-possible- future- Schalow- children,
You will NEVER be allowed to use myspace. I don't care if every other toddler is a online social networking guru. No whining about it, mommy said "no", and that is final.
  • People using the internet for random hookups (Read: SLUTS!) rather than carefully searching for your soul mate via a wonderful tool that allows you to find real compatibility as a foundation. It's cool to know stuff about someone before you meet them and be able to talk about those things, but there is no substitute for quality time spent together getting to know one another. I've never posted an online dating profile, and honestly, I never want to.
